Five years. Last week, though (like the bad little blogger I’ve been lately) I only just realized, marked five years for me as a blogger. Reflecting on that time, both upon blogging and the content on which I write, I’ve experienced quite a bit of Life over those years… I fell in love. And out [...]

A vacation day from work has been scheduled. TJ Maxx is currently being cased for appropriately obnoxious “church hats,” tiaras, and ladylike gloves. Recipes for lemon tarts, clotted cream, and scones are under review. Hotel reservations have been made- no, not for London but for downtown Chicago where Fancy and I will don the Queen’s requested “lounge suits” [...]

I broke away from the tourist trap photo line to the entrance fee counter and customs, then whisked over to baggage claim where my suitcase was the third onto the conveyer belt, and finally plowed through the flurry of men grabbing at my paperwork and bag in an attempt to gain a tip or a [...]

I’m not a financial whiz or economic genius. Mostly, when it comes to money I feel like I FAIL AT LIFE. Yeah, that about sums it up. Moving on…. Then, I read articles like this one wherein pinstriped British bankers were identified as leaning out their office windows yesterday, “taunting demonstrators and waving 10 pound [...]

It’s difficult not to feel nostalgic this week. Difficult to keep the “at this time last year”s to a minimum. The caveat to that is that I’m actually doing quite well given the sadness of letting go. It’s been two months since our break up and in that time I’ve joined a gym, read a [...]

Something strange is afoot. The most curious thing happened last month when The Boy and I came back from London. Of a sudden, the “engaged yet?” queries began. Yup, that’s right. As it turns out, quite a few friends and my own mother thought I’d come back with more than just a stamp in my [...]

Mind the gap. Chips are crisps and fries are chips. Cabs are not only new looking and urine-free, but roomy and expensive too. Tea at The Savoy is synonymous with All-You-Can-Eat buffet. And worth every penny. Who knew the pianist would be playing the Rocky theme song? McDonald’s is…different–they have chunky chips (see above notation) [...]
