My Lady Doctor Must Think I'm a Whore
Monday, October 27th, 2008I had an early appointment with the Lady Doctor this morning, which meant I had some “upkeep” to do last night. It’s been a few weeks since there’s been any reason for said upkeep (okay, it’s been more than a few weeks- it’s been fucking forever), so there’s no way I’d take that workload on at 5:30 in the morning.
The whole etiquette around going to the Lady Doctor is kind of comical to me, nerve-wracking, but comical. Even though she must see countless lady bits every day, I always feel it my duty to tidy mine up as I would for any boyfriend. I don’t know why, but I always have. It just seems like the polite thing to do. Also, I worry about my socks not being nice enough. I concede I am a dork.
For all my concern, I wonder if doctors even take notice of those sorts of things? If they think you’re old school for maintaining a lot of ground cover? Or if they think you’re just being lazy, or obviously not getting any? I wonder if they give an “A” for effort in keeping it in the bikini line? Or if they think you’re a raging whore as evidenced by your visit to Brazil?
One thing is clear; I’d be a damn judgmental doctor.
Funny, I always feel like I need to STOP doing upkeep when I have a Lady Doc appt, that she’s going to be all mad at me for messing with nature.
I used to feel that way too until I came to the conclusion that the doctor would rather it be hairy than filled to the brim with oozy crap.
Last time I went I heard all KINDS of horror stories about chicks w/STDs and.. uhm.. yeah..
I don’t ever wanna be that chick. Heh.

kate- i never thought of it that way, but you have a point. i just don’t think i could do it though…go in without first preparing.

brookem- i freaking love those boots too! apparentally so does everyone else because they’re unavailable in my size everywhere i look. sad face.
