Tallyho!

I’m going to London next Friday with Kit!

I’m a flurry of activity right now trying to plan out what sundresses to pack (when in doubt pack them all, right?), studying the Tube map, getting over my disappointment upon learning the Queen does not like visitors between October and July, and acquainting myself with the 24-hour clock and how little the dollar is actually worth.

So far, I’ve ambitiously decided I have to see the Tower of London and Westminster first and foremost. Also, Harrod’s, the National Gallery, the British Museum, St. Paul’s, Portobello market, and the Globe. I’m also trying to snag a reservation for afternoon tea at The Savoy. We’re scheduled for a day and a half in the Peak District too. Anyone been to Sheffield and its environs? Chesterfield? Castleton? Heathersage?

It will be a miracle if we can cram it all in in under a week! More than anything though, I wish I could share every bit of it with him (poor thing is there on business and is taking me with for my birthday).

This birthday, I hope to have my gateau and eat it too, collect my birthday shag, and only come back when I’m completely knackered. Bob’s your uncle.

Recommendations?

  1. Wow! That sounds like so much fun! I’m so jealous. I’ve never been to London before, so I have no recommendations except that you have the time of your life and manage to wear that Spice Girl outfit at least once while you go out.

  2. Ever since finding this picture I’ve had “Wannabe” stuck in my head…still pretty sure that’s a shirt she’s sporting as a dress.

  3. Ooh what a lovely birthday treat! I’ve only been to London once (but had a picnic at the palace so mustn’t grumble there). There is so much to do there, I’m sure you won’t be bored!

Geri looks so much better these days. Motherhood suits her. Can’t believe she named her kid Bluebell Madonna though x

  4. London rocks! Absolutely one of my favorite cities. You will have a blast whether you see every last attraction or just create your own all-day pub crawl. I have been to Sheffield (several years ago). Not nearly as fabulous as London, but interesting enough in its own right for maybe a day. You’ll no doubt have a fantastic time!
