'Cause That's How We Blogroll (Ba-da-bump)
Thursday, May 10th, 2007So, I’m breaking character, crossing the third wall. I’m blogging about blogging.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not so impervious. I realize that this is a blog and that, duh, it’s interactive. So, in acknowledging this Truth (yes, capital “T”), I’m venturing to address you fine reader. Yes, you.
While I can’t say I write for comments, I admit that I derive a certain pleasure and validation from hearing what the Great Wide Unknown thinks. Sharing a piece of myself and hearing from Liverpool, Cananada, Arkansas, and even sweet home Chicago kinda makes it more worthwhile. Knowing that they’re reading–that you’re reading–makes the idea that this is a stage and I’m just a character on it a bunch of malarkey.
When I began this blog last year, I’m not quite sure what I was trying to accomplish. I didn’t tell anyone then of its existence and I didn’t keep much to writing in it. I wasn’t sure what my voice would be or to whom I was speaking. Eventually, I shared it with only one person who knows what my shoes look like (I’d blogroll you, baby, but then the jig really would be up).
Somehow though, I suddenly found myself blogrolled. Chica stumbled upon my blog and was the first to blogroll this meandering mind of mine. It was a banner day. (You like me! You really, really like me!)
So, since I’m here now, can I simply add my thanks to those who’ve happened upon Speaking Of… and actually kept reading? Yes?
Well, shucks, thank you.

Blogging about blogging. I’ve done it. And I know what you mean, it’s always a strange feeling when you realize that other people are actually reading something that pours from your brain! As for Canada, we will defintely keep reading!
I’m honoured to be the first to blogroll you! It’s always a pleasure.
Heck, the third wall has long been demolished over on my blog.
Happy to have found you! x
I love how I misspelled my own name wrong. I love that.
