Nic Narrates

“…Back to school. Back to school. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don’t get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school. Well, here goes nothing….” (come on, you know what that’s from, don’t you?)

Tomorrow morning when I wake up, it will be my first day of school. Again. I’m so happy I could jump up and down and squeal. Okay, I’m actually sorta doing that right now in my chair while I type.

So, after six years of college and two degrees, I am a student once more (hooray for the discount at the movies and public transportation). I’m taking Merchandising Principles & Practices and Design Fundamentals. Sweet.

I took a gander at the syllabus for the latter course and our first assignment involves creating a concept based on words like “thunderstorm” and “slush” and “brick,” and then doing something “arty” with a magical thing called “bristol board” or something like that. I’m going to buy a Five Star and a sketch book and I get to use art supplies!!!!

Eeeeekkkk!!!! I’m so effing excited. I’m never going to be able to fall asleep…I’m like that kid in the Disney commercial who knows tomorrow she’s going to see Mickey ‘n Minnie…I’m TOO excited.
