A Sunday Night Well Spent

Just watched In Her Shoes last night and LOVED it. Why did I never watch this before??? I’m adding it to “the list” of all time favorite movies according to me, which means they’re super girly:

Gone With the Wind (of course)
Sense and Sensibility (my introduction to Austen)
Rear Window (analyzed it in film class)
Shopgirl (cried with recognition)
Tommy Boy (the deer in the backseat, the hood flying up, BEES!!!!)

Little Miss Sunshine (poignant dysfunction)
Love Actually (adore the Colin Firth storyline)
Terms of Endearment (I call my mom in tears every time)
Closer (twisted, but amazing)

Noises Off (absolutely hilarious)
It’s A Wonderful Life (Zuzu’s petals)

My Fair Lady (gorgeous- and I don’t much care for musicals)

Told you. Girly, right? And don’t forget, AWESOME. What’s on your list????

  1. That movie sucked- i hate Cameron Diaz.

  2. The Science of Sleep
Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless MInd

    Anything with Natalie Portman.

  3. I watched Little Miss Sunshine for the first time this week. Loved it.

In Her Shoes is total fluff, but sometimes a girl needs that. Cam’s poetry reading at the wedding gets me every time x

  4. I know…I think that’s maybe why I never watched it before. Something about the fact that shoes play a prominent part and the assumption that I would thus like it turned me off???

Anyway, it really is fluff…but I was completely engrossed. I especially liked how each of the sisters became more of a whole person when they branched out on their own…that it allowed them to not be such polar opposites, but instead find a more complete happiness in taking on each other’s traits rather than relying on the other for that part of their identity. It wasn’t about a man–or a sister– “completing” them.
